At an emotional awards ceremony, the County Durham and Tees Valley Charity Awards recognised TFM and Magic 1170’s Cash for Kids with two top awards.

Cash for Kids had already won the award for ‘Children’s Charity of the Year’ when it was announced as the overall ‘Charity of the Year’.

Cash for Kids has supported many local children over the years, raising over £439,000 last year to make dreams come true.  Cash for Kids has been helping underprivileged, sick and disabled children for the past 13 years with the charity launching appeals and developing initiatives to engage individuals and businesses.

Dawn Carney from Cash for Kids said:  “We are so overwhelmed to win not one but two prestigious awards.   Over the past 13 years the charity has helped thousands of local children and these awards recognise the significant impact we are having on the lives of them and their families.   We would like to thank the local community for its continued support and hope that such an accolade will continue to raise the awareness of the charity.”
